Abstract

This paper presents the current state of Akamon β, a native bridge between Cardano and Polygon. The objective is to to leverage both chains’ efficient infrastructure to bridge and use native assets cross chains. Akamon aims to be a community-driven bridge open for everyone, emphasizing decentralization and trustless custody. Nevertheless, in the second version, we have to start somewhere in-between and continue to push for decentralization in later versions. The goal is to make iterative improvements to collect experiences along the way. For instance, an early semi-centralized testnet brings us practical UX, infrastructure, economics, and operations foundations to focus more on decentralization from γ.

Conclusion

We focus on the high-level descriptions of the current state of Akamon β in the first two white paper versions. We expect to cover many more depths on the third version to be published by the end of July 2022 as β hits the mainnet.
